Measurement principle:
The IRSS 88 (infrared rain sensor) uses advanced optoelectronic technology to detect various types of atmospheric precipitation. Two high-intensity infrared beams generate a sensitive area of approximately 120 × 25 mm. This area can still ensure the reliability of detection even for low-density and fine precipitation particles.

Technical features:
The photoelectric system used enables the sensitive area to respond quickly to the impact of particles. High sensitivity infrared receivers have anti noise devices that can filter ambient light, even strong sunlight. The metal casing can shield RF-EMI (Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Interference). The weighted time interval (30~300 s) and minimum number of events (1~9) can be selected as needed in the following applications to find optimization methods.
Adopting advanced SMD (Surface Mount Device) technology and encapsulated in a sturdy and waterproof stainless steel casing, this sensor can be used in extreme environments. Dust and ice will not affect the functionality of the sensor. In the event of continuous interruption of IR field interference for more than 4 seconds or special contamination, the red LED light on the sensor will prompt the user to clean and maintain the infrared window.
The large supply voltage range and low power dissipation of IRSS 88 enable users to connect over long distances through ultra long cables.
